Taking trains and ferries, wielding weed wrenches and braving the elements, Troop 200 embarked on a service trip and backpacking trip to Angel Island State Park over Veteran’s Day weekend. Scouts Ellie Low, Leah Vargas, Owen Scheunemann, Tristan Moffet, Sean Hu and Clark Gregory helped to maintain the state park by removing huge invasive broom bushes near historical worker housing at the immigration station that saw hundreds of thousands of immigrants pass through in the early 20th century.

The troop got a private tour of the immigration station after their service project, hiked and backpacked across the island and enjoyed spectacular views from the middle of San Francisco Bay. The scouts were joined by adults Hannah Yan, Rob Chernosky, James Low and Will Gregory.
