In conjunction with the Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2019, the Redwood Empire and Mt. Diablo Silverado Councils are hosting a STEM event for Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA. The Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2019 will be held April 3rd to 6th at the Sonoma Raceway. There will be special activities for each age group at the event. All area Scouts are welcome and encouraged to attend.

On Saturday, April 6th, Scouts BSA will have the opportunity to earn the Electricity Merit Badge and participate in their own mini-marathon as they learn about solar and battery-powered cars to earn the Start Your Engines! Nova Award. Scouts BSA will also be able to earn a special event patch. Scouts that want to may come on Friday, April 5th and camp overnight above Turn 3 at the Sonoma Raceway.
Be a part of this annual competition sponsored by Shell, in which participants build special vehicles to achieve the highest possible fuel efficiency. You will get to meet teams from all across the Americas, learn about alternative energy vehicles and explore innovation and invention!
The event is FREE OF CHARGE!
